Daniel Wandres, Pharm.D., is the Chief Pharmacy Officer for the UCSF Health System while concurrently holding the position of Vice President, Clinical Services within the UCSF Medical Center.

Dr. Wandres also currently serves as an Associate Clinical Professor within the UCSF School of Pharmacy. He has more than 30 years’ institutional pharmacy experience, working mainly in executive positions within academic teaching medical centers. Prior to coming to UCSF in 2012, Dr. Wandres served as Chief Pharmacy Officer for Inova Health System from 2008 to 2012. From 1997 to 2008, Dr. Wandres worked at the University of Virginia Health System where he worked his way up to the positions of Director of Pharmacy as well as Medical Center Administrator.

 

 

Education and Experience

Dr. Wandres earned a doctorate of pharmacy degree from the University of California, San Francisco, where he also completed at PGY1 and PGY2 residency. He has received numerous awards, including Preceptor of the Year at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Pharmacy and the Long Foundation Prize for Excellence in Teach at the University of California, San Francisco.
