Michelle Deng, Pharm.D. is an Assistant Director at UCSF Medical Center. She has nearly 10 years of experience in inpatient hospital pharmacy, regulatory affairs, and pharmacy administration. Dr. Deng started her career at UCSF Medical Center as a Senior Pharmacy Supervisor where she supervised both operational and clinical pharmacists at Parnassus, Mount Zion and Owens Production Facility. During this time, Dr. Deng has been a key pharmacy leader in all regulatory visits involving medication management, including The Joint Commission, California Department of Public Health, and the Board of Pharmacy. With her experience in these areas, Dr. Deng serves as a member of multiple committees, including Nursing-Pharmacy Committee, Medication Safety Subcommittee, P&T Committee, Policy Steering Committee, and Quality Compliance Committee. Dr. Deng currently oversees operations at the Mount Zion campus and also supervises clinical pharmacists, technicians, and pharmacy interns at both Parnassus and Mount Zion campuses. Dr. Deng also works closely with the UCSF ambulatory services and serves as the medical center liaison with the Walgreens at UCSF.
Education and Experience
Dr. Deng earned a doctorate of pharmacy degree from the University of California, San Francisco in 2006 and completed both her ASHP-accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency in 2007 and ASHP-accredited PGY2 Pharmacy Administration Residency in 2008 at UCSF Medical Center. She is an assistant clinical professor at UCSF School of Pharmacy and an active member of the Golden Gate Chapter of the California Society of Health System Pharmacists (GGSHP-CSHP).
